Tobacco

Why do so many punks and rebellious people smoke cigarettes? I admit that for the past two years I have smoked on and off, but every time I whipped out a cig while standing outside the cobalt or the smell in my revolutionary attire with politics and anarchy on my mind I thought about how contradictory it is for me to be giving money to a huge corporation that is subsidized by the government just so that I can get my nicotine fix. If that's not buying right into the hands of corporate america, then I don't know what is! I and many like minded people will boycott the gap or disney, nestle or mcdonald's, so why not boycott the tobacco industry? If you don't support war because it kills innocent people and makes the rich richer, why support the tobacco industry? They are doing the same damn thing: profitting from our death, smokers and second hand smoke victims alike.
I hope no one takes this as a personal attack. Just some thoughts to be considered. Peace.
